This week (April 28) marks a milestone for SDxCentral, as we celebrate one year since joining InfraXmedia, the parent company of DatacenterDynamics (DCD), Yotta, and Data Center Nation (DCN).
What a year it’s been. A lot has changed. We’ve seen wars start, stop, and ceasefire. Mammoth outages take down entire portions of the internet (including us). And spiraling component shortages that have thrown spanners in the works for some major buildout projects.
For us, the biggest change has been humming to a new tune. Getting the best out of SDxCentral, while working alongside faces old and new. We’ve grown a lot. Learned a lot. And still have a long way to go.
But the biggest takeaway from the past 12 months? SDxCentral is bigger and better than ever.
In the past 12 months, we’ve launched our Supplement series, bi-quarterly in-depth special reports on the biggest topics and trends facing the digital infrastructure space. We’ve published our inaugural magazine (and are hard at work on the second). And we’ve also established a steady cadence of thought leadership-led, long-form Broadcasts, now releasing weekly. We’ve interviewed CEOs from Lumen, Nutanix, Extreme Networks, and Cato Networks; witnessed new facility openings; watched the Winter Olympics; and reported live from events all over the globe like GTC, MWC, and OFC.
And to top it all off, we’re proudly part of the team that helped build the Xcelerated Compute Show, producing on-site studio interviews throughout the event.
But the biggest things SDxCentral has done in the past year have been working alongside the wider research, news, events, and training teams here at InfraXmedia, and doubling down on human authors.
The first of those two milestones has seen us build an unassailable bond with editors and authors at our DCD sister title. Standing shoulder to shoulder, we’ve been able to widen our editorial breadth while maintaining our long-standing position as a trusted news source for vendor-neutral insights.
We operate as two complementary halves, forging our own distinct paths while working toward the same goal: providing the best coverage of digital infrastructure – think Osha and Mae in "The Acolyte": ‘You're with me, I'm with you. Always one, but born as two.’
The second, and perhaps the most important of all, is our renewed emphasis on human experts.
In a world where AI is encroaching on every facet of our daily lives, SDxCentral has sought to ensure the content and analysis central to your decision-making is led by human subject matter experts for subject matter experts.
With more than 100 years of combined editorial expertise across our team, we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure the past 12 months since joining InfraX have been about making our content more accessible, insightful, and engaging but, crucially, entirely authentic.
We understand time is precious, so we’ve spent the past year ensuring the time you spend reading and watching our content is time well spent. Time that’s taken up by editorial staff who actually know what they’re talking about – not feeding a machine prompt after prompt.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride of a year, but we’ve enjoyed every minute of it. And we hope you’ll enjoy the next one with us. There’s a lot to cover, with more memory shortages to meander through and interconnect inquiries to unpack, we’ve a few more cards up our sleeve as we look to make what we call "SDxCentral 2.0" even better.
We have a truly immense amount of talent here at SDxCentral and InfraX in general, and are confident we’re more than a match for anyone covering the software-defined space.
We appreciate you, our readers, viewers, and subscribers, and look forward to bringing you more authentic, human-led content. If there’s something we’ve missed, someone you want more of, let us know.
But most important of all, thank you for your support and your time.
