Lenovo Hires Former Intel Exec

Lenovo named  Kim Stevenson as senior vice president and general manager of its new data center infrastructure business unit where she will oversee the company’s core data center products. Stevenson was previously the CIO of  Intel and last August she was put in charge of the company's Internet of Things (IoT) Group.

Additionally, Paul Ju has been appointed as vice president and general manager of Lenovo's hyperscale group; Madhu Matta was named vice president and general manager of its high-performance computing and artificial intelligence segment; and Radhika Krishnan is now the executive director and general manager of its software-defined data center unit. All will report directly to Kirk Skaugen, executive VP and president of Lenovo's overarching data center group.

Evans Promoted to CSO of Intel 

Intel appointed company veteran Aicha Evans as its new chief strategy officer. She will report to  CFO Bob Swan. In her new role she is responsible for driving Intel’s long-term strategy to transform from a PC company to a data-centric company.

Evans is also an Intel senior vice president and has been responsible for wireless communications for the past nine years. Before taking on her new role, Evans served as general manager of Intel’s Communication and Devices Group.

VMware Moves Its Networking CTO to Asia

VMware has named Bruce Davie as its new vice president and CTO for the company’s Asia Pacific and Japan regional operation. He comes from the company’s headquarters in Palo Alto, California where he served as the global CTO of networking.

Davie will lead the company’s technical operations in the Asia region, which includes system engineers, technical account managers, and professional services. He will also focus on strategy, technical innovation, and product quality.

Davie joined VMware through the company’s acquisition of Nicira in 2012, where he was a senior architect. Before joining Nicira he spent over 13 years as a Cisco Fellow.

Microsoft’s Director of Cyber Security Policy Christopher Krebs is reportedly leaving the company to work at the Department of Homeland Security. Krebs was replaced by Angela McKay, according to her LinkedIn profile.
