Jonathan Davidson, who had been serving as executive vice president and general manager of development and innovation at Juniper Networks, has resigned from the company. Davidson joined the company in 2010.
His resignation comes simultaneously with Juniper’s announcement today of “a new organizational structure to support its innovation transformation strategy.” According to its announcement, the company wants to increase the alignment between strategy and execution.
To that end, Juniper has created the new position of senior vice president for strategy and product line management and has appointed Kevin Hutchins to this role. Hutchins, a six-year veteran of Juniper, had been responsible for corporate development, including mergers and acquisitions.
Additionally, Juniper’s engineering organization will now report to the newly named Chief Development Officer Andy Athreya. Athreya has been with Juniper for 12 years, most recently serving as SVP of engineering.
Both Hutchins and Athreya will report to CEO Rami Rahim.
And Juniper’s Co-Founder and CTO Pradeep Sindhu announced in February that he would relinquish his CTO title when a replacement is found in order to focus on his startup, Fungible. He will, however, remain as Juniper’s executive vice president and chief scientist.
