Boldyn Networks has been selected to deliver connectivity to residential living environments across Alabama's community colleges.
The neutral network provider was picked by the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) – encompassing some 24 community and technical colleges in the state – to support connectivity in high-density student housing, as well as common areas and campus IT environments.
The vendor’s Joint Purchase Agreement (JPA) was greenlit following a competitive bid process. Boldyn’s bid was bolstered by the fact it already provides connectivity for several higher education institutions in Alabama, including the Marion Military Institute, where it offers secure Wi‑Fi in on‑campus housing, and the Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette, where it’s delivered Wi-Fi for a handful of residence halls since 2017.
Beyond Alabama, Boldyn supports connectivity for on-campus residencies in facilities like Lake Tahoe Community College in South Lake Tahoe, California, and Richard Bland College in Petersburg, Virginia.
Boldyn it supports around 20 community colleges with other services like video, managed IT, and executive advisory services.
“Community colleges are playing a growing role in supporting residential student populations, and connectivity is central to that experience,” Boldyn SVP for Higher Education Matt Loecke noted. “Our deployments are designed to provide reliable, high-performance networks that scale with enrollment and support both student success and campus operations. The ACCS renewal reinforces our commitment to expanding these solutions across the community college market.”
The ACCS contract comes on the heels of a series of procurement wins for Boldyn, with the vendor chosen to deploy a Wi-Fi 7 network at the Hollywood Bowl live music venue in Los Angeles. It’s also working with AT&T to extend cellular service on sections of the Four and Five lines of the New York metro.
Boldyn recently appointed Christos Karmis as its new group CEO following the departure of Igor Leprince.
