Igor Leprince, group CEO at Boldyn Networks, is set to depart the company.
In a LinkedIn post confirming his exit, Leprince explained he will step down from a role held for almost six years.
Describing the move as “a highly emotional decision,” Leprince will continue to serve as group CEO while the company board finds a replacement.
“Given the importance of Boldyn for me, there is nothing I care about more than making sure that this transition has no impact on the performance of the company, and I’ll work closely with the Board to ensure we have a very orderly transition,” Leprince told staff in a note.
The departing CEO joined Boldyn in May 2020 from Bain & Company, serving as chair of its Transit Wireless subsidiary back when the company was known as BAI Communications. Transit, along with other companies like Mobilitie and ZenFi Networks, merged into Boldyn as part of a 2023 rebrand.
Leprince also previously spent well over a decade at Nokia, serving most notably as president of the telecom giant’s global services. He’s also a serial investor, working alongside investment firms including Enterprise 100 and Fil Rouge Capital throughout his time at Boldyn.
Leprince offered no word on his next career move, instead saying: “We will have plenty of time to discuss more in the weeks and months to come. So for now, let’s get back to work.”
Under his tutelage, Boldyn supported mobile coverage expansion efforts across London’s Underground, including the new Elizabeth Line, which runs through the city center.
He also oversaw the company’s expansion in North America following its acquisition of Apogee Telecom. The deal, which closed in May 2024, saw Boldyn gain some 350 higher education customers, providing the majority of U.S outsourced on-campus residential infrastructure connectivity.
In a statement provided to SDxCentral, a Boldyn spokesperson said, “It’s big news for the business. Igor has been the driving force behind our transformation into a global leader in neutral-host connectivity. He’s helped to build a world-class team and establish a culture that continues to drive our success.
“For now, Igor will remain in place as Group CEO while the Board and leadership team work to identify the right successor. We’re very grateful for the impact he has delivered over the past six years.”
