ZTE has launched an AI-powered tool designed to protect networks from excessive control signaling.

NetTwinGuard protects networks by simulating load impacts to ensure network stability and availability. The solution leverages algorithms and multisource statistical models to calculate the load-impact on network topology, signaling routes, and terminal behavior.

NetTwinGuard comes with a library of various scenarios allowing it to test network element switchovers and sudden traffic surges during holidays, enabling operators to better prepare potential traffic surge events.

After verifying test scenarios via a digital twin, ZTE’s tool automatically deploys them in the live networks, a process the vendor described as “one-click pre-simulation, real-time visible during the event, and zero-rollback afterwards.”

The Chinese vendor claimed the security tool was able to produce highly realistic simulation waveforms and a digital twin precision of over 95 percent.

The tool has been piloted in “multiple provinces” in China for use in applications like simulating disaster recovery, where it reduced test times from eight hours to half an hour.

The vendor said the offering “not only improves [operations and maintenance] efficiency but also fundamentally transforms signaling storm scenarios from post-event passive handling to pre-event active prevention.”

“[NetTwinGuard] enables risk-free simulation of signaling storms across multiple scenarios and rapid parameter optimization, boosting disaster recovery decision-making efficiency by 10 times,” the company said in a statement. “This fundamentally shifts core network resilience strategy from ‘passive disaster response’ to ‘proactive immunity.’"
