SUSE Rancher Prime and SUSE AI are now available on the Vultr Marketplace, marking a step toward enabling enterprise-grade Kubernetes management in Vultr's global cloud infrastructure.
Organizations are increasingly standardizing on Kubernetes and Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF)-aligned technologies to back expanding AI workloads and counter challenges such as fragmentation, graphic processing unit (GPU) access constraints, governance requirements, and hyperscaler lock-in.
The duo is providing Vultr Cloud GPU and Vultr Bare Metal with SUSE AI to support AI workloads, including model training and inference, and to also equip Vultr Cloud Compute with SUSE Rancher Prime to run and manage traditional containerized workloads in a cost-efficient environment.
The partners also pledge greater workload portability and reduced vendor lock-in through cloud-native platforms aligned with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) ecosystem.
“The future of enterprise cloud depends on interoperability and the ability to scale without complexity in an AI-centric world," Rhys Oxenham, VP and GM of AI at SUSE, explained. “By bringing SUSE Rancher Prime and SUSE AI to the Vultr Marketplace, we are making it easier for global organizations to manage their expanding cloud-native and AI workloads on high-performance infrastructure.”
SUSE recently updated AI capabilities in Rancher Prime, including a preview of its Liz context-aware AI agent and the general availability of SUSE Virtual Clusters, which is designed to optimize GPU resources.
The open source giant also refreshed its SUSE Virtualization tool to include features such as microsegmentation in a bid to separate network functions from physical hardware.
SUSE CTO Thomas Di Giacomo told SDxCentral at the time that the update “simplifies and accelerates operations for developers and infrastructure teams.”
“For operations, the general availability of Virtual Clusters allows teams to optimize costly GPU resources. ... Our expanded Observability capabilities, including dashboarding, deliver faster incident resolution times by eliminating context switching," Di Giacomo added.
