The global secure access service edge (SASE) market is projected to be worth $24 billion by 2030, according to a new report by Dell’Oro Group.
The research firm forecasts the SASE space will grow at a 15% compound annual growth rate (CAGR), with renewed SD-WAN momentum and increased focus on data security driving demand.
In what would represent a two-fold revenue increase compared to 2025, Dell’Oro’s outlook points to growing security-centric branch refreshes and managed-service adoption behind the leading demand for SD-WAN offerings.
Core security service edge (SSE) products, meanwhile, are forecast to provide some $13 billion in revenue by the end of the decade, with the likes of firewall-as-a-service (FWaaS), secure web gateways (SWG), and zero-trust network access (ZTNA) set to serve as foundational layers for access, inspection, and policy enforcement. Dell’Oro Group noted that SSE application use cases like advanced discovery, data loss prevention, and exfiltration controls help expand their value for prospective customers.
The rise and rise of SD-WAN and SSE is set to coincide with the reduction in standalone access routers. Per the analyst firm’s report, annual recurring revenue will contract by 23% as “policy-rich branch platforms continue replacing basic packet-forwarding systems.”
“SD-WAN has regained strength because branch refreshes increasingly combine connectivity, security exposure, software subscriptions, and managed services in a common purchase decision,” Mauricio Sanchez, Dell’Oro Group’s senior director for enterprise security and networking, noted. “Data security and digital experience management expand the SSE opportunity by creating monetized capabilities above the core access and policy-enforcement entitlement separately.”
