LAS VEGAS – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) expanded the reach and range of its Juniper Networks-derived self-driving network resources to now include more AI-driven systems and hardware spread across more of the HPE product and software portfolio. The updates include new AI data center networking, routing, agentic AIOps, and security systems targeting distributed AI-driven environments.

HPE’s ongoing Juniper Networks alignment begins with its Aruba Central and Mist AI platforms that gain shared agentic capabilities, common hardware, and consistent AI-native operations. This continues what HPE executives have tied to its ongoing “cross-pollination” of those platforms across the HPE and Juniper Networks operations.

This alignment now includes the integration of HPE Networks CX switches with HPE’s Mist, a move that extends agentic AIOps to support wired capabilities like AI-native visibility, zero-touch provisioning, layer-two wired access assurance, dynamic packet capture (PCAP), service-level insight, and actions driven by HPE’s Marvis AI platform. Those Marvis AI actions are also now available to support self-driving capabilities in Aruba Central, including actions like wired port remediation.

The Mist abilities within data center operations also now include proactive maintenance using predictive analytics and more capable reasoning agents for “high-confidence” remediation.

That unified infrastructure stack includes integration of Mist Networking Data Center Assurance with Compute Ops Management to allow for cross-domain visibility and insights, and having the Mist Networking Data Center Assurance service now available through HPE’s GreenLake as-a-service platform.

New switches and SASE

There is also new hardware, with OFX switches tuned for inferencing and scale-up architectures and deeper integration of data center switching and operations into HPE’s AI Data Center Solution. This involves integrating management of those switches through HPE Networking Data Center Director, bolstering HPE’s broader push toward aligning control of its compute, networking, storage, software, and services.

The new switches include its QFX5140 that is designed for inference clusters and edge AI use cases and its QFX5252 switch tray for AMD’s Helios open rack system. HPE was one of the early adopters of that Ethernet scale up architecture.

HPE’s secure access service edge (SASE) platform also gains a unified AI-native update designed to more easily converge networking and security toward accelerating zero trust adoption.

The new SASE offering is based on HPE’s Networking EdgeConnect and uses updated firewall technology to converge SD-WAN and cloud-delivered security into a single AI-native management console. This is said to simplify management and uses an embedded security service edge (SSE) connector to deploy zero trust faster by removing the need to install additional connectors or infrastructure and when combined with HPE’s Private Edge can keep traffic within corporate borders.

There is also a dedicated secure web gateway (SWG) tunnel to extend protection against web-based threats to more devices, including IoT devices.

HPE also updated its financing model with a new Network Migration Program that includes “better-than-cash” hardware financing, zero-percent software financing, and a new IT Asset Program that “unlocks value from existing gear to fund innovation.” This was described as a way to tie an organization’s AI-targeted investments toward new hardware upgrades.

The latest updates come just over a month after HPE added more “self” to its “self-driving” network push, launching new updates across its Mist and Aruba Central offerings designed to ease network management and better position the vendor ahead of aggressive rivals.

They also come on the heels of robust earnings, highlighted by HPE posting a 40% year-over-year increase in revenues and a more substantial 148% increase in networking-related revenues.
