Nokia will deploy an AI-friendly network in North Carolina for telecom operator Hotwire Communications.

The deployment will use Nokia's 7750 Service Router, which consolidates IP routing and optical capabilities to help reduce the number of network elements for traffic to traverse. Hotwire Communications said the router will help it meet growing demand for high-performance connectivity from residential and business customers, including support for AI-powered applications and AI inference-related traffic via agents.

"Getting our network AI-fabric ready was a strategic design decision. By simplifying our architecture with Nokia, we're reducing complexity, improving latency, and building a more energy-efficient network, one that's ready for the next wave of AI-driven demand from our customers," Hotwire CTO Pragash Pillai explained. "This investment ensures we can keep delivering the fastest, most advanced services to our customers."

"This project is a clear example of how a regional provider can use Nokia technology to simplify its architecture, make its network AI-fabric ready, and create more value for residential and business customers through improved performance, efficiency, and operational simplicity”, Greg Dorai, SVP and GM for IP Networks at Nokia, added.
