Hurricane Electric deployed a new point of presence (PoP) in Colorware’s YTZ-1 data center in Toronto.

The PoP adds to one of Canada’s most interconnected carrier hotels, catering to hundreds of providers, as well as TorIX, Canada’s largest internet exchange.

Colorware’s YTZ-1 customers can now exchange IP traffic through Hurricane Electric’s global network, which offers more than 40,000 BGP sessions and more than 10,000 different networks via approximately 310 major exchange points.

The PoP adds to Coloware customers’ existing connectivity options in and around Toronto, including Hurricane Electric’s IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100-gigabit Ethernet (100GE), 10GE, and GigE (1-gigabit Ethernet) ports.

The new PoP is Hurricane Electric’s fifth in Toronto and No. 20 in Canada, with the firm suggesting it will provide fault tolerance, load balancing, and congestion management in the delivery of IP connectivity services.

Colorware’s YTZ-1 data center is a Tier III+ facility that boasts two utility feeds, private pods, secure cabinets, and meet-me rooms with dedicated fiber connections.
