Fujitsu subsidiary 1Finity has landed.

The new company, wholly owned by Fujitsu Limited, handles network-related operations for the Japanese giant, consolidating the entities of Fujitsu Telecom Networks, Fujitsu Network Service Engineering, Mobile Techno Corp., and Fujitsu Network Communications.

The company offers optical and wireless hardware, software, and services. April's previous announcement of the venture explained 1Finity’s purview as encompassing the development, manufacturing, sales, implementation support, maintenance, and operation of network hardware, as well as related software, alongside Fujitsu’s 6G research function.

Masaaki Moribayashi, chief executive officer at 1Finity, commented: “As telecoms and data center network operators face pressure from escalating data demand, AI adoption, and rising costs, they require more agile and innovative network solutions.

“1Finity is well-positioned to help customers respond quickly to the rapidly changing market landscape with timely delivery of innovative products that maximize the use of innovative technology, software expertise, and intelligent AI analytics.”

Moribayashi is promoted from his role as SEVP for Fujitsu, with previous experience ranging across various arms of NTT.

1Finity is expected to expand from its main client base of Japan and North America into the European and Asian markets, with a view to targeting cloud infrastructure companies for new business ventures.

The venture shows Fujitsu consolidating its various ventures, mirroring Deutsche Telekom and others as the merging trend takes hold in telco.
