Darktrace appointed Terry Doyle as its first-ever CIO.

Doyle joins the British cybersecurity firm from web solutions provider Team Internet, with CIO experience there and at IP firm RWS Group and WPP media division GroupM.

Doyle will report to Darktrace CFO Suman Raju, who joined the firm last year alongside a flurry of new appointments including a chief revenue officer and chief customer officer as the firm's operations continue to expand.

“Terry is a proven CIO with deep experience building and scaling enterprise technology in complex, high-growth environments," Darktrace CEO Jill Popelka said of the Doyle hiring. "Over the past year, we’ve moved fast to strengthen the systems and processes that underpin our business. The next phase of our journey will provide data and insights to operate with greater speed, consistency, and discipline as we scale. Terry brings the right mix of strategic leadership and hands-on execution to help us do exactly that.”

“Darktrace has built extraordinary momentum and has a huge opportunity ahead as the cybersecurity landscape evolves and the emergence of enterprise AI dramatically expands attack surfaces," Doyle added. "My focus will be on strengthening our enterprise technology foundations, data governance and visibility to help the business scale with consistency and confidence, and seize that opportunity.”

Founded and headquartered in Cambridge, U.K., Darktrace was bought by American private equity firm Thoma Bravo for $5.3 billion in 2024. The firm acquired network traffic visibility platform provider Mira Security last year, alongside cloud security business Cado Security earlier in 2025.

Darktrace late last year introduced native visibility of endpoint processes to network detection and response (NDR) to its ActiveAI Security Platform, as well as self-learning AI on network telemetry and process data for advanced endpoint detection and response (EDR).
