Cloudflare expanded its agentic AI services for greater autonomy.

Coding agents from the web giant are now able to create Cloudflare accounts, start paid subscriptions, and even register domains. The updates come as part of Cloudflare’s ongoing partnership with payment firm Stripe, with users accessing the features via use of a Stripe command line interface (CLI).

Using the OAuth protocol as its basis, agents can go from zero awareness to production, even without an existing Cloudflare account or preconfigured model context protocol (MCP) settings.

It works across the three tenets of discovery, authorization, and payment. First the agent calls a command to query the catalog of available services; the platform confirms the user’s identity, and then shares a payment token that providers can use to bill the customer. This allows the agent to start subscriptions, make purchases, and be billed on a usage basis.

Regarding payment, users can set a budget for the agent, without sharing their credit card details. This is made possible by the payment token shared by Stripe with Cloudflare.

Cloudflare added that one app can act as the user’s control panel for another service, becoming an “orchestrator” if the product already has a signed-in user, allowing it to manage domains, storage buckets, sandboxes, and registration without the need for separate signup and authorization screens.

The Stripe collaboration follows a deal with GoDaddy, with Cloudflare working with the domain provider to integrate AI crawler controls and support emerging standards for identifying AI agents on the web.

The GoDaddy agreement saw Cloudflare’s AI Crawl Control merged with GoDaddy’s hosting platform, enabling website owners to monitor and manage how AI crawlers access their content. The feature lets users permit, block, or apply conditions, including potential payment requirements, for AI data collection.

More recently, Cloudflare introduced Mesh, a private network built to connect users, applications, infrastructure, and AI agents without exposing systems to the public internet or relying on VPNs. The platform routes traffic over private IP space through Cloudflare’s global network, with encryption and zero-trust policies applied by default.

Cloudflare Mesh provides a single networking layer that enables secure access across environments, including cloud and on-premises systems. The service is built to support AI agents as they take on more autonomous roles inside enterprise environments, as exemplified by the Stripe updates. Enterprises can assign each agent a distinct identity and apply granular access controls, allowing security teams to define what data, APIs, or systems an agent can access.
