1Finity, a Fujitsu-owned network solutions provider, has opened a dedicated Open Networking Innovation Center in Sunnyvale, California.
Scheduled to officially open in November, the Sunnyvale site will serve as a hub for open networking initiatives throughout the Americas. Operators will have the opportunity to bring their own equipment to validate interoperability testing across diverse vendor technologies.
1Finity will also use the site to demo several of its own technologies, including its AI-enabled accelerated root cause analysis (ARCA) tool for network monitoring, along with photonic offerings and its T900 series liquid-cooled transponder.
This is 1Finity's second such facility; the company already operates a similar site in Düsseldorf, Germany, catering to European vendors.
Rod Naphan, chief revenue officer and head of 1Finity’s network customer success unit, said the Americas' site will be a “catalyst for innovation, enabling a truly collaborative experience where the brightest minds in networking can come together to envision the future of connectivity.”
“This center underscores our commitment to driving open standards, fostering interoperability and promoting environmentally conscious networking practices,” Naphan added.
1Finity was spun out of Fujitsu earlier this summer, bringing together several of the Japanese giant’s units, including its telecoms networks, network service engineering, and Mobile Techno Corp. groups.
It offers optical and wireless hardware, along with software and services, with former NTT veteran and Fujitsu SEVP Masaaki Moribayashi serving as its CEO.
