Juniper Networks today unveiled Unite Cloud, a data center framework for the management of multiple public, private, and hybrid clouds.
“Unite Cloud is about the customer’s journey to the hybrid cloud,” says Scott Miles, a senior director of cloud portfolio marketing at Juniper. “Most enterprises are going through that right now, moving from entirely private on-premises data centers to public or hybrid environments.”
Juniper’s Unite Cloud aims to help mid-sized to large businesses make that transition and manage their clouds across environments with common policies. It includes management software, a new switch, and some professional services.
The management software comes via an enhanced Network Director management application to analyze and control data centers. The new QFX5110 switch with 100-Gb/s capabilities can scale with evolving bandwidth demands. And the new Contrail Jumpstart Professional Services helps enterprises with their cloud transitions.
The Unite Brand
Juniper is trying to create buzz around its “Unite” brand, which it first rolled out in 2015. Initially, the company focused on automating campus switching with its Unite Campus solution.
Juniper has since announced its cloud-enabled branch, which it is now calling Unite Cloud-Enabled Branch.
Today’s Unite Cloud is the third pillar in the suite of products.
