Zscaler reported a landmark $1 billion of software sales through Amazon Web Services (AWS).

According to the firm, the figure was spurred by a 68% year-on-year growth in public sector sales in the last year. This boon was put down to AWS competencies it holds in the cloud vendor’s health care and education categories on Marketplace, alongside AWS’ Government Competency framework, which is made up of National Security & Defense, Public Safety, and Citizen Services categories.

Zscaler has six AWS Competencies overall, including a speciality in AI Security.

The zero trust vendor also touted its Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange with the news, which operates across 160-plus global data centers, including within AWS regions and AWS GovCloud. Its Marketplace reach strengths include secure generative AI applications, on-premises migration of applications to AWS, as well as zero-trust access to private applications such as those from enterprise tech giant SAP.

Zscaler recently acquired AI security firm SPLX for an undisclosed sum in a bid to beef up its Zero Trust Exchange platform with AI security posture management (AI-SPM) tools centered around system governance and testing.

That deal followed its acquisition of Red Canary in a deal touted as driving agentic AI security operations with the integration of managed detection and response (MDR) workflows into Zscaler's suite.
