One month after acquiring Wavefront, VMware today announced that it has acquired Apteligent, which is focused on the analytical insights related to mobile applications. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

The Apteligent platform helps organizations analyze mobile applications in real-time, understand end-user behavior related to those applications, and helps address any issues before they impact business outcomes, wrote Shekar Ayyar, EVP of strategy and corporate development at VMware in a blog post.

The monitoring company is also able to model and predict how application performance impacts revenue within the enterprise.

“With the acquisition of Apteligent, VMware is now in a unique position to offer a holistic view into the operation of applications for cross-cloud and mobile environments,” Ayyar wrote. “This will complement Wavefront’s metrics monitoring for modern applications, as well as the vRealize Operations platform for monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning across virtual environments.”

VMware said it plans to add Apteligent’s software to its portfolio of software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings.

This acquisition, combined with Wavefront, will help VMware achieve monitoring capabilities into clouds and applications in containers, and now, mobile devices.

Developers can use Apteligent and Wavefront as standalone services, and there will be more integrations to come between the two, according to a different VMware blog post. Apteligent claims to support all major mobile operating system platforms including iOS, Android, Windows Phone 10, Hybrid, and HTML5 applications.

The San Francisco-based company was founded six years ago, has raised almost $50 million in funding, and has between 50 and 100 employees, according to Crunchbase. VMware has also been a “long-time investor and partner of Apteligent, wrote Apteligent Co-Founders Andrew Levy and Robert Kwok in a company blog post.
