Viavi Solutions unveiled the latest iteration of its CyberFlood testing platform.
The CyberFlood CF1000 Appliance is described as a native 400 Gb/s (400G) application performance test platform designed to validate multiterabit security and AI-centric data center infrastructures. This includes validation of critical infrastructure under encrypted and dynamic mixed traffic conditions, such as next-generation firewalls (NGFWs), distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) mitigation systems, zero-trust architectures, and VPN gateways.
The release also targets growing inference use cases, enabling AI inference traffic emulation for testing of large language model (LLM) performance and AI‑driven application workloads. This allows for evaluation of end-to-end AI inference infrastructure and LLM application performance, potentially helping to assess trade-offs between cost efficiency and user experience.
The appliance is delivered in a two rack-unit (2RU) form factor and includes support for four 400G octal small form-factor pluggable ports (OSFP) and eight 100G quad small form-factor pluggable 28 (QSFP28) ports. This reportedly enables up to 1.2 Tb/s of real-world application traffic testing, removing dependency on external switching infrastructure.
Viavi also touted quantum-safe cryptography validation, with CyberFlood’s transport layer decurity (TLS) performance supporting more than 500G of encrypted throughput and up to 800,000 TLS v1.3 connections per second.
"The move to ultra high-speed, highly secure AI networks has fundamentally changed the way security and performance must be validated," Sashi Jeyaretnam, senior director for security product management at Viavi, noted. "The challenge has intensified as organizations build infrastructure to enable the agentic era, which require that quantum security, AI inference workloads, and AI-enabled security policies all work seamlessly together. CF1000 delivers the performance and realism customers need to validate modern data center infrastructure and security architectures, while helping them reduce validation timelines, optimize infrastructure decisions, and accelerate deployments."
