Versa launched a series of services in the security service edge (SSE) and secure access service (SASE) space, alongside a partnership with chip giant Intel.
Part of VersaOne Universal SASE Platform, the new Versa Inbound SSE offering was described as a cloud-delivered capability for monitoring and securing inbound internet traffic before it intercepts enterprise applications, APIs, and services.
Inbound works by automatically routing a connection to the nearest Versa cloud gateway for security inspection and policy enforcement, with only authorized and verified traffic forwarded to the application.
Key benefits according to Versa include doing away with dedicated firewall and load balancer stacks in front of each app, as well as automatically scaled security inspection in line with application traffic demand.
Also integrated with VersaOne is Versa Secure Enterprise Browser, promising to protect organizations as employees access web, cloud, and AI applications by enforcing security, access, and data protection policies directly inside the browser.
Built on Chromium and compatible with Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices, the browser-level security is integrated into the universal policy, telemetry, and management framework behind Versa services spanning secure web gateway (SWG), cloud access security broker (CASB), Zero Trust network access (ZTNA), and more.
Versa also announced a partnership with Intel to spur enterprise AI at the edge, in an offering named Intelligent Edge.
Intel Xeon 6 processors, including Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX), underpin real-time inference for VersaOne and Versa Operating System (VOS) to run AI-driven security, networking, and analytics capabilities without latency lag.
“AI is moving beyond the data center and into the environments where enterprises actually operate,” said Nikhil Desai, senior director, product management, Versa. “Our collaboration with Intel is focused on helping customers explore how AI-powered security, networking, and analytics can run more efficiently at the edge, with the performance, control, and security required for distributed enterprise operations.”
“The transition to AI-driven enterprise requires intelligence integrated directly into the network architecture. By leveraging Intel Xeon 6 with built-in AI via Intel AMX, we are providing the high-throughput, low-latency foundation Versa needs to run complex AI inference at the edge,” added Cristina Rodriguez, VP and GM, Network and Edge at Intel. “This collaboration ensures that security and networking aren’t just connected – they’re intelligently optimized to handle the data-intensive workloads of the near future and beyond. Together, we are enabling AI for enterprise, without compromising performance or security.”
