Versa updated its VersaOne Universal SASE (secure access service edge) platform to ensure secure AI adoption within infrastructure, data protection, and operations.

The updates are designed to help organizations scale AI across distributed environments. This includes an AI-enhanced optical character recognition (OCR) to detect and analyze text embedded in images, PDFs, and presentation files – formats that often evade traditional data loss prevention (DLP) controls.

The platform has also added AI-enabled contextual DLP, which uses advanced text analysis to more accurately identify sensitive data and reduce false positives, while detecting evasion techniques used to bypass rule-based systems. This aims to reduce the risk of accidental leaks or malicious data exfiltration across distributed and AI-driven environments.

“With this VersaOne release, Versa brings AI-ready edge infrastructure, stronger data protection, and AI-powered operations together in one SASE platform, so teams can accelerate adoption while keeping risk, complexity, and control firmly in check," Versa founder and Chief Development Officer Kumar Mehta explained in a statement.

Efforts to reduce alert fatigue and enable edge infrastructure

On the operations side, Versa integrated AI capabilities to improve analytics, observability, and troubleshooting. The platform now correlates alerts across networking, security, and user experience domains, automatically grouping related events and identifying root causes. This is designed to cut through “alert noise” and help IT teams respond more quickly to issues such as routing instability, anomalous traffic, or potential data exfiltration patterns.

The release also upgraded Versa’s Verbo AI co-pilot with agentic AI capabilities to provide guided troubleshooting and recommended actions through conversational interactions – allowing teams to resolve issues without switching between tools.

To support emerging edge AI use cases, Versa enhanced its infrastructure stack with universal customer premises equipment (uCPE) now supporting containerized services in service chains. This is poised to give enterprises the flexibility to deploy and scale AI workloads on existing infrastructure.

Versa last year joined a small number of vendors to have its SD-WAN offering made available in Microsoft’s SASE partner ecosystem. The provider joined Aviatrix, Netskope, and Teridion in an exclusive club offering automated integrations with Microsoft's cloud-based Entra Internet Access secure web gateway (SWG) service.
