Versa Networks has secured a major coup, becoming the latest in just a small number of vendors to have its SD-WAN offering made available in Microsoft’s SASE partner ecosystem.

The Santa Clara provider joins Aviatrix, Netskope, and Teridion in an exclusive club offering automated integrations with Entra Internet Access, Microsoft’s cloud-based Secure Web Gateway (SWG) service.

The Microsoft service inspects and filters web traffic, providing identity-aware internet access protection for public internet and enterprise SaaS applications.

Versa’s Secure SD-WAN product, then aims to add an extra protection layer by automatically bringing together disparate networking and security components into a single, integrated platform.

Users can leverage real‑time inspection and filtering of web traffic via the Microsoft service while Versa’s integration enforces zero trust policies consistently across branches, users, and devices.

“Versa’s integration with Microsoft’s SSE solution delivers a unified, zero trust approach to networking and security that gives customers faster, more reliable access – all while keeping them safe,” said Sinead O’Donovan, Microsoft’s VP for product management, identity, and network access. “This enables seamless connectivity, robust protection, and optimized performance for our customers.”

Arista Networks also has an integration with Microsoft Entra Internet Access, though theirs is template-based. The firm's service uses predefined frameworks for faster but more static deployments, unlike Versa and its peers' automated offerings.

Versa’s Microsoft integration marks the latest in a growing number of wins for the SASE provider.

Recently it was named among the strong performers in Forrester’s Wave ranking of SASE providers alongside the likes of Cato Networks, Fortinet, and Cloudflare. That list failed to mention some big names, including Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Cisco, and Broadcom.

The vendor was also one of only four to have earned a “recommended” rating from the non-profit CyberRatings for its security service edge (SSE) products, alongside Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, and Zscaler.
