Cybersecurity firm Versa has teamed up with Swisscom to launch Beem, a combined networking and cybersecurity solution that bundles Internet connectivity, network management, and security protection into one service.

Where previously businesses would have to purchase connectivity and security from separate providers, Versa and Swisscom teamed up to offer enterprise customers a converged offering powered by the former’s Sovereign secure access service edge (SASE) solution.

Beem is built directly into Swisscom's network infrastructure rather than requiring separate software on each device, with the pair suggesting it’s suitable for businesses of all sizes.

The enterprise-focused solution taps Versa’s Sovereign SASE offering, which lets partners deploy customized networking and security services directly from their own infrastructure.

The Santa Clara-based firm contends that such an approach provides users the ability to deploy an air-gapped or fully in-country architecture while reducing reliance on third-party software-as-a-service (SaaS) infrastructure.

Beem itself is operated, hosted, and governed entirely within Switzerland, which the pair highlights as compliant with European regulations like the GDPR and NIS2 Directive while also maintaining full data residency and control.

The networking and security portion is managed via a single platform that can be scaled to meet user needs. Beem also provides greater insights into connected users, with device authentication built directly into the SIM card for native, zero-trust access control.
