Seagate Technology has partnered with cybersecurity firm Acronis to shore up its storage solutions.

Acronis will integrate Seagate’s Lyve Cloud Object Storage platform into its archival storage offerings. The pair suggests the team-up will help managed service providers (MSPs) offer more secure storage.

According to the pair, organizations needing to store vast amounts of infrequently accessed data will benefit from integrated features such as data encryption (both in transit and at rest), role-based access control, and identity access management.

“By joining forces, Seagate and Acronis can leverage our combined global reach to deliver the highly secure storage solutions that the new frontier of AI requires – empowering enterprises to better protect their data from cloud to edge to endpoint,” said Melyssa Banda, SVP of Edge Storage and Services at Seagate.

The joint offering is designed to meet both ISO 27001 and SOC 2 standards, with the pair touting it for use in highly regulated sectors like healthcare, finance, and utilities.

The cybersecurity push comes after Acronis launched a solution specifically designed for MSPs. Dubbed Ultimate 365, the offering streamlines management processes for MSPs by consolidating cybersecurity, backup, and compliance services within a unified platform.
