... Nokia and Intel announced they are launching a new innovation center in the U.K., and EE will be the first to test in the center.
... A10 settled a lawsuit with Radware that the latter filed in May 2013.
... Avaya claimed growth of 100 percent year-over-year in implementations of its Fabric Connect. The Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics remains Avaya's most famous named customer; this week it also added the city of Redondo Beach, Calif.; IIX; the York Region School District; and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).
... Cisco and Red Hat announced an extended working relationship that has the two offering integrated infrastructure for OpenStack-based cloud deployments. Both also said they will continue to work together on Cisco's Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and Intercloud.
... HP has joined the Wind River Titanium Cloud partner program. The partnership essentially means Wind River will use HP ProLiant servers to validate NFV-related products.
... Overture added four new members to Harmony, its partnership initiative for nurturing NFV in carriers' metro networks. The four new partners are Red Hat, Certes Networks, Infovista, and Kapsch CarrierCom.
... Mirantis claimed strong growth in the first half of 2014 and said it's now the largest provider of OpenStack products and services for the telecom industry.
... F5 Networks introduced new Software Defined Application Services (SDAS) for its physical and virtual BIG-IP products. Among the additions are Virtual Clustered Multiprocessing (vCMP), for multitenant isolation, and a module for F5's WebSafe security product.
... Cumulus Networks struck a deal to put its Linux operating system onto switches from Edge-Core, a subsidiary of Accton. Cumulus already has a deal with Dell, which recently added VMware's NSX to that mix.
... Infinera and KEMP Technologies joined the OpenDaylight Project, bringing the total membership to 41.
