Happy Friday, everyone! In case you missed it, here’s our gathering of the week’s news surrounding software-defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV) and related topics.

... There were rumblings a while back that Elliot Management wanted EMC to either sell itself or sell off its VMware shares, but this week, any speculation of an EMC acquisition was met with a big "nope." Cisco, Dell, and HP each reportedly weighed in, making it clear none of them have plans or interest in picking up EMC. Thanks IDC analyst Brad Casemore for the scoop... and by that, we mean tweeting all three of these stories and making our research easy.

The price — as low as 5 cents per GB per month — doesn't sound too bad either.

Launched in 2014, the registry program provides developers and system administrators with a set of centrally located application components that help offer security and quality for mission critical operations.
