Hybrid cloud provider Rackspace Technology has revamped its managed cloud platform, rolling out a central toolset aimed at helping users manage IT infrastructure across hybrid and multicloud environments.

The Rackspace Cloud Management Platform is the company’s latest attempt to stay competitive, with a focus on simplifying multicloud operations for enterprise customers.

The platform bundles AI-powered tools for workload and application optimization, along with monitoring features that promise visibility across the entire tech stack.

Rackspace is also offering the platform on a consumption-based, pay-as-you-go model, which it says lowers the barrier to entry.

"These next-generation upgrades are a significant enhancement to our services portfolio that provides customers with more insight into their cloud environment, greater efficiency, and the freedom to innovate fearlessly," said D K Sinha, Rackspace’s president for public cloud.

The launch comes as Rackspace continues efforts to stand out in what is an increasingly crowded cloud services market.

Last month, it expanded its OpenStack business, offering private cloud services with dedicated infrastructure for customers running mission-critical workloads. That followed the debut of its GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) offering late last year, using Nvidia H100s housed in its SJC3 data center in Silicon Valley.

Its latest platform incorporates automation and DevOps practices, which Rackspace says help enterprises improve operational efficiency and scale hybrid cloud environments more effectively.

Rackspace Managed Cloud was launched back in October 2023, offering fully outsourced cloud operations. The newly revamped service can integrate with customers’ existing IT service management systems, with a view to providing business users with increased insights into their cloud environments.

“These new upgrades to RMC provide our clients with the tools, flexibility, and power they need to leverage the cloud and achieve a competitive advantage,” said Mike Lindbert, Rackspace’s senior director for public cloud.
