Rackspace Technology has launched a secure managed service designed for enterprise AI workloads.
The Rackspace AI launchpad service is pitched as an industry-agnostic solution for AI workload lifecycles, with the cloud vendor claiming to accelerate time to value for businesses wanting to ride the AI wave.
Leveraging Rackspace’s private AI cloud solution, AI Anywhere, the launchpad offers managed infrastructure for AI processing, a fully-managed GPU infrastructure leveraging Nvidia chips, and AI-driven Kubernetes cluster management for immediate scaling.
Alongside its tech wares, Rackspace touted a holistic approach for enterprises comprising proof of concept work, pilot trials, production, plus onboarding and operational support.
The vendor gave the case study of U.S. healthcare provider Compass, which used Rackspace’s private cloud for hosting digital health records production and disaster recovery needs. The company then adopted Rackspace’s AI services, opting for a private cloud-hosted AI solution with natural language search, automated documentation checks, and real-time reporting.
Rackspace claimed Compass saw an 80% reduction in manual review time through clinicians being able to search patient records and identify missing documentation more efficiently.
Recent Rackspace moves
The San Antonio, Texas-based firm recently appointed Gajen Kandiah as its new CEO to drive its cloud AI ambitions in the sector.
Kandiah joined Rackspace from Hitachi Digital, where he served for more than five years across various divisions, most notably as COO and executive chairman.
Prior to that, Rackspace launched its OpenStack Business private cloud service for enterprises, which the firm positioned for performance-sensitive applications that require guaranteed system resources, such as AI training.
That offering is built on Rackspace's OpenStack Flex private cloud platform, and followed the debut of its GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) offering late last year, which uses Nvidia H100s housed in its Silicon Valley-based SJC3 data center.
In August, the firm revamped its Rackspace Cloud Management Platform, offering AI-driven tools for workload and application optimization, along with monitoring features that promised visibility across the entire tech stack.
The firm also unveiled RAISE (Rackspace AI Security Engine), an AI-augmented offering for enhanced threat detection and response in its Cyber Defense Center operations.
