According to Qumulo President and CEO Douglas Gourlay, the initiative stems from a vision to create a file system unencumbered by traditional limitations, enabling organizations to enhance workflows across various industries. The Cloud Data Fabric aims to facilitate collaboration in diverse fields, from film production to healthcare.

The system comprises a high-performance distributed file and object data storage cluster paired with a caching mechanism that ensures real-time data consistency. This technology allows organizations to manage and scale data effectively while maintaining performance and access controls.
