Toronto-based cloud services provider OnX Canada is now offering Cisco's SD-WAN as a managed service to enterprise customers.

OnX now offers managed SD-WAN services on both Cisco's Viptela platform and VMware's VeloCloud, two of the largest providers in the space according to to a recent IDC forecast.

The company claims that Cisco's SD-WAN offers customers a highly predictable user experience, greater simplicity, and security for enterprise assets all while optimizing connectivity to multi-cloud and software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.

By adding Cisco's Viptela to its managed services portfolio OnX is targeting large enterprises with significant branch footprints. For small to midsized businesses, the company says VMware's VeloCloud remains the “perfect fit.”

“SD-WAN has the capability to deliver transformative results for organizations looking to harness the power of a cloud-based consumption model and retire expensive MPLS networks,” said Paul Khawaja, president of OnX Canada, in a statement. “Flexibility and performance are two factors to consider for any enterprise with multiple sites, looking for a resilient and reliable network, at a reduced cost compared to the legacy network.”

OnX and it's parent company CBTS, have leveraged SD-WAN technology to support more than 600 customers — including businesses, healthcare providers and government agencies throughout Canada — and 4,000 networks across eight countries.
