Ocient has announced a partnership with AMD aimed at enhancing performance and efficiency for data and AI workloads. By integrating Ocient's software solutions with AMD's 4th Gen EPYC processors, the collaboration promises a 3.5 times increase in processing power and over two times the memory throughput for users of the Ocient Hyperscale Data Warehouse.
The demand for efficient solutions has intensified, as global data center energy consumption is projected to double by 2026, partly due to rising AI and data analytics needs. This partnership looks to provide significant operational cost savings and improved performance through better energy efficiency.
Kumaran Siva, corporate vice president at AMD, stated, “Efficiencies delivered through hardware and software innovations are critically important for addressing the needs of large-scale data analytics.” The partnership emphasizes Ocient's core-based licensing model that prioritizes cost efficiency for compute-intensive workloads.
Chris Gladwin, CEO of Ocient, added, “AI and compute-intensive data analytics workloads are placing immense pressures on data centers around the globe, meaning efficiencies delivered by hardware and software are essential for enterprise data growth, performance, and costs.” The collaboration aims to help enterprises meet their demanding data performance and efficiency requirements.
