Zscaler has announced that Nokia is deploying the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange platform to improve its security, operational efficiency, and cloud capabilities. The cloud-native solution connects users directly to applications and workloads while minimizing network exposure, thereby reducing the attack surface and enhancing security compliance.
Nokia has transitioned from traditional hardware and virtual firewalls, which made it challenging to maintain uniform security controls across diverse environments. “Now we are moving towards identity-based, location-independent application access with a zero-trust security approach without compromising user experience,” said Nishant Batra, Chief Strategy & Technology Officer at Nokia. The shift aims to support Nokia's cloud-first model efficiently and securely.
The deployment of Zscaler's Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solution aligns with Nokia's objectives to streamline operations and elevate security, addressing the limitations of traditional firewall solutions. Zscaler's platform, with its extensive public edge coverage and application-centric approach to zero-trust, encompasses over 160 data centers worldwide to ensure optimized performance for Nokia's global workforce.
- Zscaler Internet Access™ (ZIA™): Provides secure, zero-trust connection directly to the internet and SaaS applications with an AI-powered gateway.
- Zscaler Private Access™ (ZPA™): Offers direct, secure access to private apps replacing traditional VPN methods.
- Zscaler Digital Experience™ (ZDX™): Allows Nokia's IT team to swiftly identify and resolve user experience issues.
- Zscaler Data Protection: Safeguards sensitive data with advanced threat prevention capabilities.
Through this partnership, Nokia aims to optimize its security infrastructure, cut operational costs, and establish a solid foundation for future digital transformation efforts. Jay Chaudhry, Zscaler’s CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing the potential for superior threat detection and enhancement of user experiences.
