Network operations (NetOps) solutions provider NetBrain unveiled a slew of platform updates aimed at bringing AI agent-infused tools to “operational realities.”
The updates see the vendor look to bring agentic NetOps to live production environments to help customers diagnose and remediate issues across complex networks. Among the additions is AI Path Doctor, which validates network paths and flags inaccuracies that it can remediate by generating its own runbooks.
Another offering is Agent Skills, which is used to instill institutional knowledge and best practices for NetBrain’s agent tools that can be tailored for customer-specific environments.
Beyond agent tooling, NetBrain added model context protocol (MCP) support to bridge the gap between network data and large language models (LLM), enabling AI assistants to instantly access network intelligence without complex custom integrations.
NetBrain revealed a handful of customers have been using its agentic offerings prior to full release, with an unnamed “global telecommunications firm” using its agents to sort a persistent firewall problem. Another early, unspecified health insurer used one of its agents to apparently resolve a week-old virtual private network (VPN) connectivity issue “in under five minutes.”
The latest batch of agentic updates adds to those realized earlier this year, which included Deep Diagnosis and Runbook Companion that further help automate fault isolation and guided remediation.
“Our agents are not simply AI assistants, but act as operators that diagnose, decide, and act, governed by the verified network grounding our platform provides,” NetVBrainm CEO Bernadette Nixon noted. “We are delivering on both the innovative, purpose-built agents and a platform to provide the trusted network context that allows our customers to pursue automation confidently.”
Nixon took the reins at NetBrain in January, having joined from AI search startup Algolia following Lingping Gao’s shift from NetBrain CEO to chair of the board. The firm also recently secured backing from Blackstone, with the investment giant pledging to help NetBrain expand its footprint.
