Console Connect is an interconnection company that enables its customers to privately access software applications, cloud providers, and other enterprises. This week Console announced its integration with Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute.

The integration enables Console customers to easily connect to the Microsoft Cloud. Currently, the integration enables secure interconnections to be set up between any of Console’s 170 points of presence (POPs) and Azure ExpressRoute locations in Silicon Valley, California; Ashburn, Virginia; Los Angeles; Chicago; Dallas; Toronto; and London.

Console’s platform allows enterprises to establish private, secure connections with a single click by automating the interconnection process through to layer 3. “We provide layer 3 complete software automation for the connection,” said Jef Graham, CEO of Console Connect. “We do a software router."

The company touts the benefits of its one-to-many connections compared to some other cloud providers. “If you connect to Amazon, it’s just to Amazon,” said Graham. Console’s software permits interconnections to many other cloud providers and applications. “You connect once to us, and then you’re connected to lots of other cloud providers," he added. "All that provisioning is done in software.”

In addition, Console offers a networking community for IT people at different companies to talk to each other. “We don’t just say ‘It’s AWS,’" said Graham. “It’s a person. You can reach out and connect to them and ask questions.”

Other companies belonging to Microsoft’s Azure ExpressRoute partner program include Megaport, Aryaka, Comcast Business, and Equinix, among many others.

In fact, we’re seeing more announcements from companies offering one-to-many cloud connections. Today, Equinix announced the availability of Amazon Web Services Direct Connect cloud service in its Munich data centers. Equinix uses SDN to connect its customers together.
