Megaport has launched Points of Presence (PoPs) in Telstra InfraCo's data centers to expand interconnection offerings in Australia.

Announced in a LinkedIn post, the firm unveiled PoPs in Telstra InfraCo facilities in Brisbane, Adelaide, and Canberra, which are set to provide on-demand access to its software-defined network.

Megaport said Australian users can leverage the offerings to connect to major cloud providers and support both multi- and hybrid cloud strategies.

The Queensland-based firm said its team-up with Telstra InfraCo will “mak[e] it easier than ever to power AI, accelerate time to market, and connect to the cloud with confidence.”

The Telstra InfraCo PoPs add to Megaport's existing Australian offerings, operating a host of interconnections in facilities from providers like Equinix, Australian Data Centers, and YourDC.

Outside of its home of Australia, it covers more than 160 cities across 26 countries, providing direct connections to cloud and service providers. In early August, Megaport celebrated its 1,000th supported location, with DataBank’s SAN1 facility in San Diego home to the milestone PoP.

Following its four-figure landmark, Megaport said it plans to continue adding its interconnection services to more locations, businesses, and clouds around the world.
