Keysight Technologies has announced the launch of new DCA-M Sampling Oscilloscopes designed for 1.6 terabits per second (T) optical transceiver testing, tailored for research and development as well as manufacturing of next-generation optical interconnects for data center artificial intelligence (AI) clusters. The oscilloscopes include a single optical channel version and a dual optical channel version, providing high precision measurement capabilities to meet the demanding requirements of modern AI data center networks.

The introduction of these oscilloscopes addresses the rising challenges of accurately characterizing transceivers at extreme data rates, which require equipment that can adhere to strict signal integrity standards. The devices are engineered to support data rates up to 120 gigabaud and can operate with less than 15 µW of optical channel noise and below 90 femtoseconds of intrinsic time-based jitter, ensuring reliable performance in rigorous testing environments.

Osa Mok, Chief Marketing Officer of TeraHop, recognized Keysight as a dependable partner in providing the high-quality test technology necessary for advancing optical solutions. Mok stated, “This new line of Keysight sampling oscilloscopes will help to accelerate 1.6 Tbps optical solutions deployment for a new generation of AI compute networking applications.”

Dr. Joachim Peerlings, Vice President of Network and Data Center Solutions at Keysight Technologies, emphasized the importance of these tools in facilitating performance and time-to-market for data center solutions aimed at AI applications. He commented, “We are proud of our progress in supporting the industry as it advances AI infrastructure, laying the foundation for future generations to innovate.”

The new DCA-M Sampling Oscilloscopes will be featured at the upcoming OFC 2025 conference in San Francisco, demonstrating their capabilities to an audience of industry professionals.
