Keysight Technologies launched updates to its test solution designed to aid validation of next-generation electrical and optical interconnects for AI data centers.

The additions to its 1.6 Tb/s (1.6T) end-to-end optical and electrical solutions portfolio include the N1095DJCA, which is an optical transmitter conformance test application designed for IEEE 802.3dj and developed to enable conformal optical measurements. The application supports Keysight's N1093 DCA-M sampling oscilloscopes, with the firm promising higher sensitivity and reduced validation time for next-gen optical interfaces, helping to preserve margin at 224 Gb/s data rates.

On the electrical side, the N1091DJPA solution is designed for debug environments, enabling engineers to characterize transmitter behavior using half-rate clocking setups. According to Keysight, this makes it suitable for early silicon, application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), and system validation, aiding in uncovering margin, isolating issues, and informing design decisions.

The new N1096 multimode DCA-M offers measurement capability for 224 Gb/s or 112 gigabaud (GBd), pulse‑amplitude modulation 4‑level (PAM4) for multimode short-reach applications.

“As the industry moves rapidly toward 224G and 1.6T interconnects, customers need test solutions that span electrical and optical domains while scaling seamlessly from [research and development] to manufacturing," Joachim Peerlings, VP of network and data center solutions at Keysight, explained. "These new solutions reinforce Keysight’s commitment to enabling reliable, high-performance AI data center networks.”

The release comes after Keysight Technologies and Point2 Technology recently teamed up to test and validate multiterabit interconnects for scale-up connectivity.

The partnership saw Keysight’s high-speed digital test solutions used to validate Point2’s e-Tube radio frequency-based interconnect to ensure it meets performance and reliability requirements of hyperscale AI infrastructure.
