KEMP Technologies has taken the wraps off of its KEMP 360 centralized management platform by entering into proof-of-concept (PoC) trials starting today.
KEMP’s Michael Worlund, director of emerging technologies, R&D, said this morning at VMworld that KEMP is also actively seeking beta customers for KEMP 360. Worlund said an undisclosed service provider looked at KEMP 360 yesterday at the conference in San Francisco and expressed an interest in taking part in the PoC.
Like its name suggests, KEMP 360 was designed to configure, provision/orchestrate, and monitor applications and devices from a central point of view.
KEMP, which made its name with load balancers and application delivery controllers (ADCs), will integrate 360 with existing cloud partners, and with OpenStack, when the PoC trials are completed. Worlund said KEMP 360 already has 150 feature requests that it will build out in future versions.
“We have an engineer in Ireland working with OpenStack for a north-facing API to integrate with them,” Worlund said. “We’ll work with anybody. We’re not big enough to boil the ocean on our own."
KEMP has traditionally offered its products to mid-market and enterprise customers, but it has started to find traction with service providers as well.
