IBM announced the acquisition of Hakkoda Inc., a consultancy focused on data and artificial intelligence (AI) services. Hakkoda's expertise will enhance IBM Consulting's data transformation services and support clients in preparing their data for AI-driven operations.

The consultancy specializes in data migration, modernization, and monetization, and is recognized as a top partner in the Snowflake ecosystem. This acquisition aims to meet the increasing demand for effective data services, enabling clients to build comprehensive data estates optimized for speed and efficiency across various applications.

Hakkoda also contributes a collection of generative AI assets that can expedite data modernization efforts. The firm has substantial experience in sectors like financial services, public sector, and healthcare. By combining its strengths with IBM, Hakkoda plans to enhance its consulting offerings through IBM’s AI-powered delivery platform.
