Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has scored another Premier League soccer scalp, bringing its networking stack to Brentford Football Club.

The West London outfit will deploy HPE networking technologies, including the 9200 Series campus gateways and Aruba networking access points, to boost connectivity across its 17,000-seater stadium, training ground, and corporate offices.

HPE’s Aruba Networking Central cloud-based network management platform will give Brentford the tools to orchestrate access for club staff and broadcasts, while Aruba Networking User Experience Insight (UXI) will monitor client experiences to ensure optimal performance.

The HPE win will provide Brentford with the means to enhance connectivity on matchdays for fans, as well as for stadium operations, ticketing teams, stewards, and health and safety staff. Coverage extends across indoor and outdoor areas so fans can access digital ticketing platforms outside the stadium.

“Modern stadiums are becoming increasingly digital environments, with technology supporting everything from how fans interact with their clubs to how teams manage a matchday,” said Mark Weeks, HPE’s networking sales director for the U.K. and Ireland. “Our work with Brentford FC shows how a strong foundation can help clubs introduce new services and innovations over time.”

Brentford currently sit sixth in the Premier League table. Keith Andrews' boys have enjoyed an impressive start to the season, with emphatic wins over fellow London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham – the latter also using HPE’s self-driving stack, having ditched VMware for its hybrid cloud and IT enterprise network.

HPE’s latest Premier League win sees it secure a partnership with a club regarded as one of the best-run, most data-driven, and fan-friendly clubs in English football. The club was promoted to the top flight in 2021, with its swanky new Gtech Community Stadium opening a year prior.

“HPE has given us a reliable foundation across Gtech Community Stadium that supports both our supporters and our teams. It also gives us the flexibility to explore new digital experiences as we continue to evolve the matchday,” Fran Jones, Brentford’s commercial director, said.
