Brazilian banking giant Ouribank has enlisted NEC and HPE’s Juniper-infused networking business to augment its data center and campus infrastructure.

Aiming to simplify its day-to-day network operations across both its data center and branch infrastructures, the bank brought in HPE Networking and NEC Enterprise Network Services to boost the reliability of its network.

Among the solutions deployed were HPE Networking’s Apstra data center director software to improve the design and management of Ouribank’s networks. Several of HPE’s Juniper infused switches were also utilized, including its QFX5120 for the data center and the EX4400-24X for wider campus support.

NEC was brought in to automate Ouribank’s network, with the financial firm wanting its IT team to handle less menial tasks and instead focus on strategic projects for new financial services .

The vendors are also supporting development of the bank’s disaster recovery site, a secondary location where Ouribank can move critical IT systems in the event of disruption.

Ouribank started out as a foreign exchange specialist, and has evolved over four decades to become a digital bank supporting an array of services from customized banking solutions for businesses to facilitating cross-border B2B payments.

“In today's digital era, NEC and HPE Juniper Networking solutions are fundamental to enabling the bank's digital transformation, especially regarding connectivity issues with public clouds, using AI-based functionalities to ensure ongoing flexibility and agility for our business,” said Luis Eduardo, head of IT for Ouribank.

“This powerful alliance leverages Juniper's cutting-edge AI-native and NEC’s transformation services to prepare Ouribank's network infrastructure for the future,” added Manfred Opificius, SVP for service provider sales at HPE Networking.
