Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has unveiled eight new servers within its ProLiant Compute Gen12 portfolio, designed to meet federal security certification standards. This new line of enterprise servers incorporates AI-driven management features and aims to enhance IT productivity while achieving power savings of up to 65%.

According to Krista Satterthwaite, senior vice president and general manager of Compute at HPE, the servers are tailored for organizations dealing with increasingly demanding, data-intensive workloads across various sectors, including public sector, finance, and healthcare. “The new HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 servers give organizations the horsepower and management insights they need to thrive while balancing their sustainability goals and managing costs,” Satterthwaite noted.

The ProLiant Compute Gen12 servers feature built-in security measures that protect data from the chip to the cloud throughout the server lifecycle. The enhanced iLO 7 management includes a unique security processor called secure enclave, which protects against firmware attacks and establishes a secure supply chain. HPE's cloud-based Compute Ops Management software equips customers with AI insights to improve energy efficiency and automate management, ultimately reducing downtime significantly.

These servers are optimized for demanding tasks like AI implementations, data analytics, and hybrid cloud solutions. The Gen12 servers reportedly provide up to 41% better performance per watt compared to earlier systems. With the ability to replace multiple Gen10 servers, a single Gen12 server offers significant efficiency improvements. HPE is also introducing direct liquid cooling options for additional energy savings.

Availability of six of the new servers is expected in Q1 2025, with the remaining two slated for Summer 2025. Customers can acquire these servers standalone or through HPE GreenLake, enabling flexibility and scalability in cost management.
