Gluware today rolled out tighter integrations with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Cisco’s SD-WAN in an update to its network automation platform. The company claims the updates will allow organizations to automate both traditional and modern API-based networks using network controllers or public clouds.
The integration with AWS directly addresses many of the challenges faced by customers today as they migrate workloads to the cloud, according to Gluware CEO Jeff Gray.
“As more enterprises move to the public cloud, they find that legacy processes and tooling for network management becomes insufficient and unsafe,” he said in a statement. “This leads to escalating cost, decreased performance, and increased security vulnerabilities that could be easily solved by the right automation capabilities.”
The company’s public cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform uses HashiCorp’s Terraform integration with AWS to automate complex deployments, including multiple virtual private clouds, Transit Gateway, and Internet Gateway, among others.
On the SD-WAN front, the update also adds support for automating third-party virtual network functions (VNFs), beginning with Cisco’s Cloud Services Router (CSR) 1000v virtual routers. Gluware then provides automation via a command-line interface to Cisco’s vEdge and Integrated Service Routers, as well as API automation via the Cisco vManage controller.
Similarly, for customers with smaller SD-WAN deployments, Gluware has introduced API integrations with Cisco’s Meraki SD-branch platform, which provides an abstraction layer designed to simplify provisioning.
