Extreme Networks unveiled a series of new agentic AI-related updates and Wi-Fi 7 solutions as it steps up its rivalry with fellow pure-play networking competitors.

At its Connect event in Orlando, Florida, Extreme showcased Agent One, an agentic offering that comes packed with multiple “modes” to help manage enterprise networks.

The first mode being made available, dubbed Agent One Coworker, provides monitoring of network activity, investigating, and acting on anomalies. Users can interact with it via a conversational interface, with Extreme claiming it can help minimize manual effort and prevent network issues before they impact users.

While there are several similar-sounding tools on the market, Extreme argues its network monitoring agent doesn’t wait for prompt inputs, instead operating “proactively.” Its “nudge” capability sees it surface insights like slowdowns or congestions its uncovered without the need for engineers to type in a lengthy prompt.

Agent One Coworker will be made available later this year as part of Extreme’s flagship platform.

The second agentic offering, Agent One Operator, will drop soon after and can execute tasks independently. Where Coworker monitors, Operator responds to events in real time, running scheduled workflows. Extreme even claims it will “continuously learn from each interaction and outcome, becoming more precise and effective over time.”

“As networks begin to think, adapt, and act in real-time, the relationship between human users and AI agents will rapidly evolve, making simplicity and control essential to success,” Extreme Networks CTO Nabil Bukhari explained. “Our vision is autonomous networking at scale delivered on a foundation of trust between humans and AI agents, which means fewer disruptions, faster outcomes, and operational efficiency.”

Tri-band devices see Extreme cater to all deployment types

Extreme also debuted new Wi-Fi 7 solutions that expand its existing device portfolio.

Those additions include the AP5060 series outdoor and the AP5022 series indoor access points (APs), which feature three 4x4 radios, a dedicated tri-band security sensor, and integrated IoT radios.

Both support tri-band operation on standard PoE+ (802.3at), with customers able to choose the right balance of radio performance, scanning, and functionality for each environment. The AP5060 is ruggedized to withstand harsh environments as well as deployments in dense environments such as stadiums, hospitals, and industrial facilities.

Also unveiled is the new AP3020 (indoor) and AP3060 (outdoor) routers, which house 2x2 radio designs for more space and power-constrained deployments.
