Equinix unveiled a distributed infrastructure offering targeting enterprises deploying autonomous AI agents and distributed AI workloads.

Unveiled at the company’s inaugural AI Summit, the platform features an AI-ready network backbone, a Solutions Lab for testing, and Fabric Intelligence, a software layer for Equinix Fabric for workload optimization across its global data center network.

Equinix claims its new offering can meet AI infrastructure needs, including inference at the edge and data sovereignty requirements, contending traditional enterprise IT wasn’t built for distributed, performance-sensitive workloads.

The California-based firm is positioning the distributed platform as programmable networking between facilities and AI-optimized infrastructure.

The AI Solutions Labs component will let enterprise customers test configurations before full deployment. The testbed will be available across 20 locations in 10 countries, though no specific sites were disclosed upon reveal. Following the announcement, an Equinix spokesperson told SDxCentral the Solutions Lab will be available in the U.S., Canada, U.K., the Netherlands, Germany, the U.A.E., Singapore, Australia, Japan, and South Korea.

Fabric Intelligence, meanwhile, aims to automatically route AI workloads to optimal locations based on latency, compliance, and cost requirements. Scheduled for availability early next year, it features integrated AI orchestration tools to automate connectivity decisions through its access to live telemetry.

Equinix also stated it is set to offer direct, private access to GroqCloud from Groq beginning in early 2026.
