Trafikverket, the government transport agency in Sweden, is using ECI Telecom’s SDN-based LightAPPS to automate and optimize its network operations.

Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, is using ECI’s LightAPPs to provision SDN  on its installed base and will use it for future SDN-based networks as well.

Trafikverket is responsible for long-term planning of the transport system in Sweden, as well as the state road network and the national railway lines. The agency, which has been an ECI customer in the past, is now using ECI’s LightInsight and LightTIME apps to improve its network efficiency and visibility.

By using ECI’s predefined LightTIME templates, Trafikverket can preschedule services in advance of large sporting events, for example, and then automatically disconnect them when the events are completed. LightTIME can also reduce network bottlenecks and speed up the introduction of new services, according to ECI.

With ECI’s LightInsight management dashboard, customers can gain a 360-degree view of network inventory, utilization trends and the status of service penetration.
