Deutsche Telekom has created an Internet of Things (IoT) platform that will support several different IoT services including Microsoft’s Azure platform, Cisco’s Fog Computing service, and Huawei’s cloud platform.

The multi-IoT platform will be housed at the company’s cloud data center in Biere, Germany, which is known as the “House of Clouds.”

The IoT platform will collect data from different hardware, such as sensors and machinery, and then route it through gateways where the data is processed. DT says that all data collected is subject to strict German privacy and data protection laws, and that only authorized users of the multi-IoT platform will be able to access the data.

DT will offer different IoT packages to enterprises – from pure data collection to more detailed data analytics.

This multi-IoT platform is the latest announcement from DT, which has been working for some time to transform its existing cloud portfolio into a multi-cloud ecosystem to support various IoT services. T-Systems, which is DT’s digital division, will offer the different IoT packages to potential customers. Anette Bronder, director of T-Systems’ Digital Division said that this multi-IoT platform will help more companies be able to take advantage of IoT services.

Cloud integration with IoT is a big focus for a lot of companies. Last month Cisco and Salesforce formed an alliance to jointly develop and market cloud and IoT products.
