SDxCentral Quick HitsData-Centric Security Market to Hit $16.5B by 2028 — The global data-centric security market size is forecasted to reach $16.5 billion by 2028, a jump from $4.5 billion in 2022, according to The Insight Partners’ new study.
Data-centric security encompasses all technologies that focus on protecting data an organization is entrusted with within its data lifecycle. Data-centric security does not focus on infrastructure risks, approaches, or policy, and is instead a security model that has multiple solution layers to understand, manage, and protect sensitive on-premises or cloud data.
The study found growing reliance on cloud data storage, which has prompted more investments in data-centric security solutions. Cyberattacks have also contributed to transitions to data-centric security solutions to protect a company’s mission-critical data.
Since the pandemic, there has been a 667% increase in cyberattacks via email, according to Barracuda Sentinel. Adoption of security solutions to combat cyberattacks has also increase, which is a driving force for businesses investing in the data-centric security market.
Other trending factors will be the increased incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) and multi-cloud strategies.
