CrowdStrike has acquired AI security startup Pangea.

As announced at CrowdStrike's Fal.Con 2025 event, the deal will see various Pangea capabilities embedded into CrowdStrike’s flagship Falcon platform. Features include protection against prompt injection attacks, model jailbreak attempts, and malicious entities.

Pangea’s platform is also said to enable the secure development and production of AI, in-baking security into AI applications and agents, while offering off-the-shelf safeguards for faster and secure go-to-market.

Adding to Falcon Shield’s existing agentic protection, CrowdStrike users can also oversee and regulate enterprise-built and integrated AI services with the integration. Pangea also offers monitoring of shadow AI, the low-key, unmanaged usage of AI apps in an enterprise, which can lead to unsanctioned and invisible data leaks.

This increasing threat to the network saw Cato Networks recently acquire AI governance platform Aim Security, while both Palo Alto Networks and Cloudflare have released updates tackling shadow AI in recent weeks.

Pangea's integration adds a full AI detection and response (AIDR) suite to Crowdstrike’s offerings, and comes amid a new Nvidia tie-up that incorporates a no-code agent builder from the security vendor with Nvidia’s Nemotron AI model platform. Similarly, Falcon has been expanded to cover agents built with Nvidia NeMo Agent Toolkit and other third-party vendors.

Fal.Con 2025 saw a flurry of partnerships from the Texas-based vendor, with new collaborations including Cloudflare, secure access service edge (SASE) (vendor Versa, Amazon Web Services (AWS), social media giant Meta, and Salesforce.

Financial details of the Pangea deal were not disclosed by the parties.
