In a win for CloudGenix, managed service provider Cissdm today announced it added the vendor to its SD-WAN portfolio. Over the past year, CloudGenix has worked aggressively to cast a wide net and bring in new service provider partners as part of its ongoing mission to displace industry giants like Cisco.
Cissdm says CloudGenix's SD-WAN and CloudBlades platforms will enable it to deliver all branch infrastructure services directly from the cloud, thus eliminating the limitations of and need for additional branch hardware. The service provider called CloudGenix's CloudBlades platform, which allows customers to spin up branch services remotely by utilizing resources colocated in Equinix facilities, a "game changer."
In a statement, CloudGenix CEO Kumar Ramachandran said by adding Cissdm to its managed service provider network, the vendor can better help customers realize cloud-scale economies in the branch and eliminate the reliance on branch routers, hardware firewalls, and voice and WAN optimization appliances.
CloudGenix's SD-WAN platform is available from Cissdm starting today.
CloudGenix’s Storm Grows LouderCloudGenix made headlines last year when, after a successful $65 million funding round, the startup took aim at SD-WAN giant Cisco.
Those battle cries have gotten louder, and Gartner's most recent WAN Edge Infrastructure Magic Quadrant report served to embolden the vendor. The report ranked CloudGenix as a "visionary" and inching closer to a "leader," while rival Cisco fell from "leader" to "challenger." At the same time, Silver Peak and VMware retained their leadership roles.
CloudGenix CEO Kumar Ramachandran credited much of his company's success in 2019 — reportedly 300% year over year — to its ability to take on the much larger rivals and convince large enterprise clients to defect. “What we find is that our products and solutions stack up tremendously well against Cisco,” he said in an interview with SDxCentral.
Moving forward, CloudGenix aims to branch out into international markets as part of a new sales effort.
